So often I rush into a new day without giving it much thought that this new day is another precious gift the LORD gave me. And what am I doing with it? In my younger days, I looked forward to the weekends, where I would do the things I enjoyed. Much to fast those weekends slipped by and in no time, Monday came around and the so called monotonous weekdays were ahead of me! What a drag I thought, not realising that each day is precious, a gift from the Creator of Heaven and Earth. As I look back on my life now, I realise more and more, how precious each moment is that we have. No, I can't roll back the time, nobody can, but I needed to learn to treasure life and the moments we have. Most precious to me are now the time I spend with my darling wife of 40 years, with my children and grandchildren. Indeed I enjoy the company of my family a great deal, my grandchildren, playing with them, reading a story or two, or just simply telling them how much I enjoy their company and how much I love them! I tell them: how much more the Heavenly Father loves them, matter of fact He loves each and everyone of us. The Bible says: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. That's why I can say with great confidence: enjoy each moment that is given to you and treasure it. I know that the Word of God says: In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. No matter what lies ahead for me, I know that my LORD is in control and that I need not to worry or fret, since He is my Shepherd my Lord and my Friend!
I love watching and playing with my grandchildren. They are in: soccer and baseball. (Nicholas my Grandson played on the U12 team that won the BC Championship in 2007)! Well done Nicholas!
As an amateur photographer, my camera and video-camera are always ready and accompanying me. I also like volunteering. In the past 25 years, I've spent a great deal of time helping at the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, BC. feeding the homeless people, helping them in their need, through the: "Food on the Corner Society". We nourish them and help them to find a new life! The purpose of the society is a threefold Ministry; A: Looking after their physical needs. B: Encourage them to look for a change in their life. C; Help them spiritually!
Jesus said: "Come unto me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"! Also he said:"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father except through Me". Quotes from St.Matthew's Gospel, 11:28 and St.John Gospel, 14:6
